Municipal Stadium

 

Municipal Stadium prior to 1950.  Also known as Baltimore Stadium, Babe Ruth Stadium, Venable Stadium, and Metropolitan Stadium.

 

 

 

Municipal Stadium was built of wood on mounds of dirt beginning in 1922.  It was completed in 1924 with a seating capacity of 80,000!  On November 29, 1924 the stadium was officially dedicated when 80,150 persons attended the Army-Navy game.
